What you see above are the walking patters of three different subjects in an experiment I conducted at the Hogeschool West-Vlaandren. The subjects are asked to put on a Vive headset and perform simple interaction tasks in VR, like puzzles and ball games. The individual tasks take place in separate rooms along a long hallway. What the subjects don’t know is that the layout of the rooms keep changing them, giving them the impression of walking down the long corridor, while instead they walk in small, ~4 × 4 meter circles.
